The work we have decided to undertake cannot be done alone. To that end Gender Rights Maryland had developed an Alliance Partner Network of like minded organizations who support our organization and our goals. Together we can achieve the vision put forward by Governor O'Malley.
Free State seeks to provide legal services to the low-income LGBT population, which cannot currently be accessed through existing service providers. FreeState also seeks to educate the broader legal community on LGBT issues, enabling them to better represent pro bono LGBT clients. FreeState will work to build the capacity within the Maryland bar to handle LGBT issues.
Maryland Black Family Alliance
The Maryland Black Family Alliance (MBFA) is an alliance of straight, black allies who are faith leaders, elected officials, social workers, artists, professors, activists, attorneys, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and friends who all believe injustice for all of Maryland families - including those headed by same-sex households.
Pride At Work is a nonprofit organization and an officially recognized constituency group of the AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor & Congress of Industrial Organizations.) We organize mutual support between the organized Labor Movement and the LGBT Community for social and economic justice. In addition to national Pride at Work, more than 20 Chapters organize at the state and local level around the country.
The Equality Federation is the national alliance of state-based lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy organizations. The Federation works to achieve equality for lgbt people in every state and territory by building strong and sustainable statewide organizations in a state-based movement.
